Fear is Fear is Fear....
Clinton are still slugging it out. Both Obama and Clinton have disavowed Bush and his fear mongering politics, but Clinton has been playing the same fear card that has disguised itself as economics. Fear is fear, whether it is a fear of terrorism or a fear of losing your job and not being able to provide for your family. There is also the fear of change and it is this fear that underlies all the others. What is fear? Fear represents a lack of trust that the future will bring contentment. Fear does not reside in the present moment, or the NOW if you prefer. When you are fearful you are fearful of something that does not exist in the moment that you are being fearful. I know what I have, but I don’t know what the future
will bring if I change course. This is fear of change. I have been trying to attach words to the feelings I get when listening to Barack Obama. He encourages me to be self-responsible. He invites me to participate in the process of government. This is juxtaposed to McCain and Clinton, who tell me what they will do for me. The change that Obama represents to me, and I suspect to the millions that support his candidacy, is not government as usual, but rather, government of and by the people. Although I have always voted, I never really felt as though my vote counted for much, because other than exercising my right to vote I was never invited to empower myself. Obama invites us to self-empowerment much as Kennedy did when he said in his inaugural address, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” I get the sense that Obama is saying, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for yourself.”Self-empowerment is scary business. “Who will take care of me?” “I can’t fully take care of myself.” “What if I lose my Job?” “Who will feed my kids?” “I’ll lose everything.” “If we don’t close our borders the terrorists will get in.” There is a great deal of victim mentality in these statements, but more than that there is
fear. Franklin Delano Roosevelt knew about the dragon of fear when he said, “There is nothing to fear, but fear itself.” He had an intuitive sense that fear immobilizes. How do we immobilize ourselves in the present moment? By being fearful of the moment that has not yet arrived. Where do we create the moment that has not yet arrived? In the present moment. Where are we in the moment when our attention is on something that has not happened yet? Well, we sure aren’t in the only moment that creates the future, which is the one you are currently experiencing. So, what does fear have to do with this election and the three candidates, McCain, Clinton and Obama? In getting at this it is important to remember that the objective (outer) world is symbolic of our subjective (inner) literal world. McCain represents the status quo and is the representative of those who fear change the most, but
Clinton is not far behind. She is feminine gender, but for the most part expresses a masculine persona. She wants government to do what she believes we are incapable of doing ourselves. She represents the mother that wants to fix, fix, fix her children, but cannot see her children fixing themselves. Obama is physically symbolic of change. Yes, he is of male gender, but expresses a decidedly intuitive and therefore feminine orientation. (I refer you back to my posts on Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus.) Symbolically his genetic makeup represents the world as a whole and therefore the downfall of tribalism on both a local and global scale.
All this is not to say that Obama is not ready to lead our country, for he is. All this is to say that we can change business as usual in Washington. All it takes is a little courage and a little faith in that inner voice that you may hear that says, “Trust this man for the future is now.” Bill Marshall

There's also the fear of climate change and global warming, which I think all the candidates have, to some degree, bought into. The image of a hostile, over-heated, over-populated feverish Earth, which will need to be healed or repaired, is a very potent and scary one. I think we shall see some interesting times, whoever wins.
I've been reading all your posts with delight and was wandering if you wrote some more before April 06? If so, is there a way to read them?
Thanks,
Lucien
Hi Lucien,
If you go to http://createwhatyouwant.blogspot.com and wait for the right panel to load, all of my post should be listed there.

Hey Bill...
This is Opan.
If you're interested in Time Travel and practical applications of this as the Time Bridgers are exploring, I would like to invite you to the Time Bridgers yahoo group! :) It's a private group, but you can check out the public info about it at www.infinityjunction.blogspot.com or email me privately and I'll invite you to the group.

Hope to see you there,

A friend suggested I look at this interesting blog, as she put it. Imagine my surprise when the first entry I see is about BO. Say what? I thought this was a self-help, take responsibility for yourself site. No government nor candidate can take care of me. Only I can take care of myself. BO, HRC and McCain are all BSA's just like every politician before them. I may come back for another visit but right now it's later for this blog. I have better things to do than to read another plug for another candidate. Ugh!
Hi Roi,
Sorry you got tweaked by the topic, which was fear. I happened to use the presidential election to get the concept across, which was exactly what you pointed out, taking responsibility for yourself. Sure, my preference is for Obama, but not having read any of the other posts you could not know that I only hold that preference for myself. The topic was 'fear' not the election. The election was the subject I wove fear into. And you are right, no one is responsible for me, except me. The mass reality is, however, that a presidential election is in progress. You are not disconnected from that, for there is no disconnect. Whether you vote or not is not the issue. How you create your reality is, and that is the subject matter of this blog site. I hope you'll take the time to check out some of the other posts and your snap judgment may change. You may want to read the post on acceptance.
Best regards,
Bill
Bill.
Can you email me. (Can't find your email here.) You think like I do.
At the present time I'm networking with other progressive thinkers to tackle the question..... HOW we create what we perceive.
My email: infinitethoughts(at)@yahoo.com (Take out the "at".)
Cheers.

Really? Are you saying that I cannot disconnect from mass reality and create my own reality? That goes against everything else you've been saying. Mass reality is the product (reflection) of the herd mind (mass consciousness). In order to create my own reality I've got to disconnect from that herd mind and start using my own mind.
In my reality there is no presidential election going on. Seriously, there isn't. And my reality is just as valid and just as real as "mass reality."
Mass reality is a reflection of mass consciousness. The presidential election going on in mass reality is a reflection of the struggle of individuals within mass consciousness to embrace their own power. That reflection dissipates for someone who has already left the herd and embraced their own power. Someone who uses their own mind instead of the herd mind has no need to reflect (create) the collective struggles of the herd.
Hi Anonymous,
My take is that if you are aware of the presence of an election then you are participating in it. You don't need to vote to lend energy to the production. All energy is affecting whether you pretend to ignore the election or not.
And yes, you do create all of your reality, including your perception of the ongoing election. Now, if you lived in some remote jungle and never heard of the US let alone the election then it would not be within your perceptioon and therefore not of your creation becaquse you deo not perceive it. I assume since you are responding to me that you are aware of the election and therefore participate within energy to it's manifestation. If you watch TV and see any mention of the election, that IS YOUR creation. You do not have to participate in the process of the election, but you have indeed created your perception of it. That's my take, anyway.
